So where do we fit in?
- Underwater Hockey in Ireland is still under developed.
- The Irish team is picked from a core of about 60 players.
- In the 15+ years that underwater hockey has been played in Ireland the game has gradually evolved.
- Instead of a few scuba divers picking up hockey sticks during the winter months to keep fit, we now have a core team of athletes, who are more experienced and skilled than any team before.
- For the first time an Irish team won a premier tournament in England in the summer of 2004.

Where do we intend to go from here...
By winning this tournament these top Irish players needed to beat teams who contained some of the top players in the World.
At The World Championships in Sheffield in 2006 it is expected that this team will make up the core of the elite and masters selections and at that tournament they will compete against the best in the world.
By way of preparation for the World Championships this team intend to qualify and compete in the European Championships in Marseille in May 2005.These major championships will give the team the experience needed to make a significant impact at the World Championships in 2006.
